In Tehama County, you can recycle batteries through the GreenWaste of Tehama "Orange Bag" curbside program for alkaline batteries or by dropping them off at retail locations and the Tehama County Landfill for rechargeable and single-use batteries. It is illegal in California to put batteries in the trash due to their hazardous materials. 

Curbside Recycling for Alkaline Batteries 

• GreenWaste "Orange Bag" Program: For GreenWaste customers, alkaline batteries can be placed in a designated orange bag and put in your curbside recycling bin for pickup.
